Mr. Bush, Tear Down That Wall Idea!

Honestly, can you believe that the Bush administration is actually going to dump over $2.5 billion of taxpayer money to build a wall on the U.S./Mexican border??

What are they thinking??

Not only is that wall an affront to diplomacy, I'm wondering when the U.S./Canadian border wall will be built. We can't build one and not the other, right? Come on, let's finish the bankrupting of the Treasury, and push it deep into the red! Let us finalize the world's suspicions that the U.S. is just a Johnny-come-lately to Communist thinking!

I have this idea -oh, call it silly- that if the Bush administration enforced the laws against the hiring of illegals, and fined the employers that broke those laws, the U.S. could retain $2.5 billion and put a helluva lot more money back into the Treasury!

I know it's a pipe dream to expect rational thinking from our current politicos, but I can't help but keep hoping that someone somewhere in the Bush administration actually has a brain.
