Time Magazine is reporting that Rep. Tom DeLay has announced he will not seek reelection, and that he will be dropping out of the race within months.

From the story: "He notified President Bush in the afternoon. DeLay and his wife, Christine, said they had been prepared to fight, but that he decided last Wednesday, after months of prayer and contemplation, to spare his suburban Houston district the mudfest to come."

Spare the district?? More like conserve his finances. I've the feeling he's going to need every last penny come sentencing time. Then, after Bush pardons him, Delay can return to his former occupation in cockroach management.
